聚乙烯（Polyethylene,PE），简称PE。是乙烯进行加聚而成的高分子有机化合物。聚乙烯是世界上公认的接触食品最佳材料。无毒、无味、无臭，符合食品包装卫生标准。聚乙烯薄膜，轻盈透明，具有防潮、抗氧、耐酸、耐碱、气密性一般，热封性优异等性能。是塑料包装印刷用量最多、最重要的材料。
聚乙烯主要分为线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE )、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE )、高密度聚乙烯(HDPE )三大类。
聚乙烯又有高压聚乙烯和低压聚乙烯之分，
高压聚乙烯,又名PEF板是采用先进的发泡技术生产线,采用最先进的科学配方,以高压聚乙烯,阻燃剂、发泡剂,交联剂等多种原料共混,
高压低密度聚乙烯又名：LDPE
